The following day started late and ended much later.
The hours of sightseeing at the Temple of Heaven were remarkable. A marvelous nacreous cloud with lively whirlpools appeared as a miracle in the limpid blue sky above the dome of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests. An embraceable lawn opened into paradise. A small rainbow dressed a noble pine like a pleated skirt. An extensive fl ower garden stretched out into the ocean of a sunrise glow. A sheet of large pink roses bloomed. Mei picked one. I took a picture of her kissing the petals or the petals kissing her. Guo and his wife Ru accompanied us. I took more pictures of them. Everything went as smooth as daylight. Some peace and quiet soothed me with clarity.
